Why this matters

Why verifying an agency before you share access matters

Store access, ad accounts and customer data are valuable — a few minutes of checking can save months of cleanup.

Protect store access

Collaborator access to your Shopify admin can touch products, orders, payouts and customer data. Confirming who you're granting that to is a basic security step, not paranoia.

Avoid impersonation scams

Impersonators sometimes copy an agency's name, logo and case studies to look legitimate. Verification confirms you're actually talking to who you think you're talking to.

Set the right expectations

A genuine partner status usually means a track record of launched stores and accountability to Shopify's partner standards — useful context before you commit budget.

Do it yourself

How to verify any agency, step by step

  1. 1

Ask for their Shopify Partner ID

Every legitimate Shopify Partner has a public Partner ID. A real agency will share this without hesitation.

  2. 2

Search their business name and reviews independently

Look them up outside of links they send you — search engines, review platforms and social channels they don't control.

  3. 3

Check for a real portfolio with named, live stores

Ask to see actual live URLs of stores they've built, not just screenshots that can't be verified.

  4. 4

    Confirm how they'll request access

Legitimate agencies request Shopify collaborator or staff access through the platform itself — never your personal password.

  5. 5

Verify contact details match official channels

Cross-check the phone number, email and WhatsApp against the agency's own website, not just what was sent to you in a message.

Watch out

Red flags that suggest an agency isn't who they claim to be

They ask for your Shopify account password instead of requesting collaborator access.

They pressure you to pay immediately, before any written proposal or scope of work.

Their portfolio only shows screenshots or mockups — no live, working stores.

Contact details change between conversations, or messages come from personal numbers only.

They refuse to share a Partner ID or get defensive when asked to verify credentials.

Pricing is dramatically below market rate for the scope of work described.

What it means

What our Shopify Partner status actually means

Being an active Shopify Partner means we're recognised by Shopify to build, launch and manage stores on their platform, and our activity is tied to a real, traceable Partner ID — 791366.

It doesn't automatically guarantee a specific outcome for your store — that comes down to the strategy, design and execution behind each project. What it does mean is accountability: our partner activity, launched stores and standing are tracked, not self-reported claims with nothing behind them.

We publish our Partner ID openly and encourage every prospective client to verify it directly with Shopify, alongside checking our own lookup tool above.
